Within the Ohrid Summer Festival 2020, on the stage of Dolni Saraj, pianist Boban Mirkovski will perform as a soloist with an orchestra conducted by maestro Ljupcho Mirkovski, performing the piece “Ataraxia” written by the composer and conductor Lj. Mirkovski.
“Ataraxia” is a modern, pop symphony in four staves for Piano and Symphony Orchestra composed by Ljupcho Mirkovski. The piece is a combination of all of Mirkovski’s work, which includes music for orchestra, solo instruments, theater and film music, jingles, children’s and pop music, as well as folk, serious and jazz music. “Ataraxia” is a wonderful combination of several music genres that show all the musical refinement of the composer, with an easily acceptable melodic line and progressive harmony where he uses all the instruments in a very skillful way. This pop symphony, in addition to the different genres, follows several musical trends that change over the years. Simply, “Ataraxia” is a 50-minute piece of music for enjoyment easily accessible to everyone’s ear.
As part of the Ohrid Summer 2020 concert, Boban and Ljupcho Mirkovski together with the orchestra will perform George Gershwin’s masterpiece entitled “Rhapsody in Blue” for Piano and Orchestra.
